Why can't ALPUC just deduct my monthly payment from my bank account? …Or use my credit card to pay my ALPUC bill?

Questions arise now and then about paying water and sewer bills online or via credit cards. ALPUC would like everyone to understand that the bank fees associated with either option are substantial and would represent an additional expense that would have to be included in our rates and spread over all our customers. Since the vast majority of our customers pay on time by personal check, we do not feel it to be an expense the company should incur.
