How big is our sewage treatment plant?

Our new plant has a 150,000-gallon per day treatment capacity, plus it includes a 150,000-gallon per day equalization basin, both at the same site along the service road leading to the old treatment plant. The existing six sewage lift stations have also been rebuilt.

Our new sewage treatment plant should be adequate for Alpine Lake residential needs indefinitely. Adding houses actually helps to relieve the inflow and infiltration problems (I & I) we are experiencing because it closes off laterals that were not capped properly. The critical work from now on will be to deal steadily and effectively with the I & I problems. Continuation of our treatment permit depends on our doing this. We have filed a required Corrective Action Plan and must prepare quarterly progress reports.
